Nobody publishes this number and it moves with the device. Drag it and watch whether your opening still holds.
The hook
The hook stands on its own
What they see before pressing anything
Most founders check the wrong number first. Revenue per send looks healthy because the biggest list carries it. Per person, that same send …see more is the worst one you run. Sort by revenue per recipient instead. The order changes, and so does what you fix first.
Mechanics
Nothing to fix. 2 checks passed.
- PassYour first sentence survives the cutWhoever stops there still got a complete thought.
- PassIt does not end on a questionNot a fault. Worth knowing, because a question is the cheapest way to invite a reply.
Everything here runs in your browser. Your numbers are never sent anywhere, not to me and not to anyone else.
How this is calculated, and what to put in
Why the cut is a slider
Nobody publishes where a feed post gets truncated. It moves with the viewport and the device.
It also changes without notice. A tool stating a precise number is quoting a blog post from two years ago.
So drag it. If your opening only works at the generous end, it does not work.
The one thing that matters most
Whether your first sentence finishes before the cut. A reader who stops there should still have a complete thought.
Half a thought and a link is not a reason to press the link. It is a reason to keep scrolling.
What is doing the work
Those first characters are the most valuable space you have. A hashtag there is not earning them.
Neither is a link. Most people will not press it yet. It has taken room from the sentence that would have made them want to.
No score, and no best time to post
There is no number out of a hundred here. No advice about when to publish either.
Both would be built from other people’s audiences. Yours is not theirs, and the mechanics above are true either way.
